Hi forum
Im looking for a cms including, smarty, html-editor (lika SPAW) for pages, not the ordinary ones with fields for head, text and so on. I want to design the whole page in the cms and then publish. Be abel to move around the pages in a tree structure, upload and crop pictures. Regular things.
Dont need many functions but I need a good GUI, and use the smarty flexibility, plugin.
Any clues?
many thanks / Johannes F

If you have time you could look on my source code for a very small - ... ehm ... - content (without management?!) system.
It's absolutely simple but's exactly what I needed for my father (who has absolutely no idea about HTML)
Here are the features:
- Look & feel changeable via a Smarty template
- Editing of the pages using HTMLArea (WYSIWYG for both IE and Mozilla)
- Easy creation of new pages by simply linking to a not yet existing URL (a bit like WIKI)
- Pages can also contain Smarty tags for increased flexibility.
- Automatic creation of backups if a page is changed
- Uploading and easy management of images
- No database backend needed.
What it don't offers:
- Tree structure for files
- Bug-free solution
- Any kind of documenation. But it's held very very short so hopefully no problem to understand ...
- Multi-User-support. Just a single administrator login.
If you're interrested feel free to leave my a PM or post a reply here.
Perhaps you could improve it or we could work together so it matches your and my needs. |

Sure I like to look at the system! Post a link!!
Is there anya demo/exampel?
Me my self have put together a small cms this week, seems to do almost the same things... using smarty, adodb, spaw, docs in tree, At this time only i Swedish and vare bad code.... Nice gui and idea but the code...
I will send you password to it to your private box here.
URL to the outpt is: http://formformat.griffel.se
I use one ID to every page and get the tpl, content and so on, then I use Smarty to create the pages, I controll the cache, looking for cached files and I have a simpel login (protected pages). This is small and simpel but easy, have i look! _________________ --------------------------

Hi,
I have just been working on something similar myself.
It is a basic CMS based on a database maintaining the page tree.
HTMLArea is also used for GUI editing, and pages can be moved in the page tree.
The system is extensible using a class based extension [plugin] system that allows the creator of a content page to put dynamic functionality in a page, and also the creator of the template.
I created a news module for example, and you can put this in a template as for example a side bar very easily:
{extension name="news" type="latest"}
for example will display the news extension module and the output will be the latest news.
All extensions appear in page editor, so a user adding a page can pick the News plugin for example to appear on a content page. Ultimalty these exensions will also allow a user to configure them from the backend by providing a list of fields the user can fill in.
Still very much a work in progress, and sort of aimed specifically at some of our uses, we are planning on releasing it into the community once its evolved to be a bit more stable.
We're going to use it on our new site when it goe live Monday [www.formfunction.co.za]. I'll make a posting when the package is available for download if anybody is interested in checking it out.
Thanks
