I have a php file that is used to post to Twitter.

The post is generated by a URL like such:

http://www.example.com/post.php?artist=Michael Jackson&song=Beat It

When the php file is called, nothing is displayed (by design) because it's just updating the Twitter account with new information.

It works fine like it is, however I want to use the script in a Smarty template.

My question is, is it possible and when doing so will the variables from the source be captured and processed the same way they do with php?

Will the new URL be as such (since it's in a template - where below tweet.tpl is being used):

http://www.example.com/tweet/?artist=Michael Jackson&song=Beat It twitter page

The purpose for the change is to use it in a community based CMS website where each station owner has their own template.
