I'm trying to make a new installation of Smarty. I have copied the files from one installation to another and updatede the server & database connection according too the new webserver. Although when I run the site i get this error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ';', expecting T_FUNCTION in /customers/itkontrakt.dk/itkontrakt.dk/httpd.www/ramboll/model/classes/Person.class.php on line 1

What does that mean - where should I look for a solution to the problem?

erm, I wouldn't wonder if the problem was in /customers/itkontrakt.dk/itkontrakt.dk/httpd.www/ramboll/model/classes/Person.class.php on line 1

I have checked the path with my ISP and it is correct. Do you have any suggestions on what to do when copying from one website to another?

seems you have a syntax error in that file, perhaps you could show the contents of /customers/itkontrakt.dk/itkontrakt.dk/httpd.www/ramboll/model/classes/Person.class.php

You realize that is a PHP error, yes? It is also in a non-Smarty related file. Why ask us about it?
