concerning "default" modifier

i'm not sure if its a bug, but it no longer works as before
current version we evaluating:
if (!isset($string) || $string === '')

and if variable is a zero its not considered empty


in smarty v2 it was like this
if (empty($string))

the cvs log-entry to the change is:

fixed bug with default modifier when passing integer 0

it looks the change is intended and not a bug.
