Hello!

Sometimes I receive an error like this
Code:
Fatal error: Uncaught --> Smarty Compiler: Syntax error in template "505531cbf07be5f6983f1dd4650a7947be640a3c" on line 87 "[-paginate_prev class="but_prev"-][-paginate_middle prefix="" suffix="" link_prefix="" link_suffix="" format="page"-][-paginate_next class="but_next"-]" - Unexpected """, expected one of: "identifier" <-- thrown in /public_html/smarty/libs/sysplugins/smarty_internal_templatecompilerbase.php on line 87

In fact, there is no error in the code. I can add some spaces in template or move code up or down in template and and the error disappears.

Previous smarty versions do not have these errors.

What could it be?

the same error:
Code:
Fatal error: Uncaught --> Smarty Compiler: Syntax error in template "67a20ce2dbdeca922b9095d3cbb501610a410da5" on line 88 "[-menu data=$menu id="nav"-]" - Unexpected "$", expected one of: "identifier" <-- thrown in /public_html/smarty/libs/sysplugins/smarty_internal_templatecompilerbase.php on line 88

problems start from 3.1.12 version. 3.1.11 works well.

It looks like that you compile the template from a string, right?

A much likely reason is that the charset of the template source does not match Smarty's charset setting $_CHARSET
