Hi,

I was wondering if there was a way to remove the session_start() dependancy of SmartyValidate?
What is it used for? Is it easy to remove the need for it? I don't want any sessions in my app.

Thanks!

SmartyValidate relies on sessions to maintain the form validation criteria.

But aren't there better ways? For example, I have seen other people do form validation without sessions, and without sending the rules in the HTML. Maybe they just reread the template file? Of course, that would probably be slower...

The validation criteria is saved in the session server-side so it persists page to page and you cannot manipulate something in the form to get it to validate.
